Founder & Executive Chair

Andrea Rademeyer Executive Chair & Founde rMA Research Psychology; AVIRA/INSEAD; YPO (HBS)

Andrea is the Founder of Ask Afrika- 30 years ago. Whilst Ask Afrika is known as the ultimate authority in establishing benchmarks, Andrea has a special interest in social and reputation research. She has been involved in projects for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and The Sukuma Trust. She sees business as playing a pivotal role in shaping and changing society and is committed to that change through uplifting societal voices.

Her commitment to honouring the voice of South African citizens is born out of an enduring passion for all things socio-political. Ask Afrika was founded in social research and this drive is still evident in Ask Afrika’s COVID-19 measurements, directed by Andrea’s thought leadership.  She has attended 6 programs at the Harvard Business School, 2 programs at Instead, whilst also holding an MA (Research Psychology).  Andrea’s leadership on the global stage is recognised and celebrated as the first African to chair the ESOMAR Congress- the biggest gathering of global researchers.

Sarina de Beer

global products director

Global Products Director

MA Research Psychology; AVIRA/INSEAD

Sarina de Beer is a name freely associated with Ask Afrika. She has been the Managing Director for many years, and has been exposed to every facet of the business. This has given her exposure across every industry category the company has focussed on.

According to Andrea Rademeyer, founder and newly appointed Executive Chair: “Sarina has a formidable skillset. Part of her job as MD was to design and develop Ask Afrika’s Benchmark products. She has an uncanny talent to look at the data at our disposal, see patterns emerge, glean the root cause of the problem, and create a narrative that may include several ways to create a solution impossible to question. Her experience and talents is crucial in our global expansion.”

In her new position, de Beer will be responsible to package Ask Afrika products for licensing in Emerging Markets. “We often find that products developed in first-world markets don’t fit emerging economy contexts, hence why our products will work so well in these markets!”, Rademeyer concludes.

Faye Joubert

HEAD OF CLIENT PARTNERSHIPS

Head of Client Partnerships

Faye joined Ask Afrika after several years as a client of Research methodologies underpinned by her love of Customer Experience and of change driven out of empirical data. She saw an opportunity to bring her decades of Operational leadership to bear on a highly technical and analytical environment.

Faye is a founder member of two telcos – serving on their start-up teams, and is described as having grit, tenacity, and a can-do outlook. She also operated at the VP level in the competitive outsourcing space, driving efficiency and customer delight. Her compassion, empathy, and real love for her fellows are what define her.

Having operated at a particular level, Faye is well suited to discussing a partner’s business at the C Suite level – helping to co-create implementable strategies, at speed and under pressure.

Faye’s academic underpinning in the psychologies has served her well. “The moral imperative for business to succeed, to create more and better employment opportunities makes good business sense too”. Her driving desire is to see insights used to better a company’s overall success, and so directly impact the economy.

Maria is indomitable. As a person who took ownership of the syndicated work that Ask Afrika has become famous for Maria is able to see solutions that Clients encounter every day.

Market segmentation, sizes of markets, share in the context of the competitive set – and share in the shoulder categories enable our Clients to see things as they really are. Maria knows all the business she serves inside out – and to our delight/dismay spends hours dispensing advice.

Maria is also a good mentor. Her patience enables this trait. As an Ask Afrika stalwart Maria knows every aspect of the business and is able to teach us all truths about the business which some of us hadn’t thought about. Her truth is, “Don’t be afraid, just believe” and we hear these comforting words often.
